It is important to be available when our clients need us so you will find we are available and easier to contact than many other local letting agents. Too many Letting Agents treat prospective tenants poorly or supply poor customer service! We really do want your business and hope you will find our positive attitude to your renting requirements refreshing.

If you haven’t had a property of your own before, maybe because you are still living with parents, it is a good idea to work out how much rent you can realistically afford. Don’t forget to take into account the bills you must pay including council tax, gas, electric and water.

Once you have found the right property you may have to act quickly to secure it. This will mean paying a holding fee so that we can hold the property for you and make a start in obtaining the necessary references.

Landlords need guarantees that you will be a trustworthy tenant with a checkable background, who is able to afford the rent. Using a referencing company, we will normally obtain credit searches, employment and previous landlord references. You will also need to provide a copy of your driving license or passport as identification, along with proof of current residency.

If you have any concerns about whether you will pass our referencing procedure, or if you know that you have adverse credit, please let a member of the lettings team know before making an appointment to view properties. We may still be able to help, possibly by taking a Guarantor, but we will need to speak with the Landlord client first.

Any personal data that you give us that is recorded electronically is subject to the Data Protection Act. We are registered with the Information Commissioners Office (ICO).

When you pay a deposit to Door2Let, we will register it with one of the three Tenancy Deposit Protection Schemes, and provide you with the paperwork from the scheme that has been used (YOU WILL NEED TO AMEND THIS DEPENDING ON WHAT SCHEME YOU ARE GOING TO USE). Payment of rent must always be made on the due date by standing order from a UK bank account.
